What are Global/Soft Skills?

Global or soft skills are personal qualities that improve communication, collaboration, and adaptability in diverse environments. They're about how you interact, solve problems, and navigate the complexities of the modern workplace.

Think problem-solving, leadership, networking and communication. View the global skills we focus on in the classroom (Global Skills Certificate) and outside of it (Digital Badges).

Why they are VERY important:

These skills are not ‘nice to have’ they are essential to career success.

  • Career advancement: Employers highly value soft skills, often considering them essential for leadership roles.

  • Effective networking: Building rapport and expanding professional connections.

  • Global competency: Navigating diverse workplaces and international collaborations.

  • Personal growth: Enhancing self-awareness, resilience, and overall well-being.

Studying language or micro-credentials internationally (view our global centres) with us gives you a head start, with many of these global skills incorporated into our courses, you’ll graduate with your core course credential, as well as credentials for global skills earned along the way.
