2019 has been an exciting year for us here at Bayswater Education. Autumn means awards season and we are thrilled to have been recognised for our work in the industry both here in the UK and abroad.

Giving forward

First up, we were nominated for ‘Charitable Endeavour of the Year’ at the Lead5050 Women in Education awards. James, Stephan, our Global Sales Manager Yeliz and Bayswater Foundation’s Project Manager Jessica headed over to Berlin pre-ICEF for the celebration. Highlight of the night was the keynote speaker chief superintendent Sam de Reya (a real-life superwoman!) It was an honour to be finalists at this event and share stories of the work we did this summer to empower refugees through our university taster programme.

Follow the star

Then our commercial manager Jamie Tyler hit the stage at the British Youth Travel Awards as a contender in the ‘Rising Star’ category.  Jamie is the man behind Bayswater’s year-round groups, developing partnerships and our annual summer camps.   Tom Allen from The Apprentice (You’re Fired) presented the awards which were hosted over at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Needless to say, Jamie’s not going anywhere after bringing home the silver!

Our architects, Tigg + Coll, and creative agency, Paint Shop Studio, have also been turning heads with their designs inside our shiny new college. From the cheery ‘Hello’ at the entrance and signs to each of our four floors and student hangout areas, we want our students to feel that we are their home away from home.

At the FX Design awards last night, Tigg + Coll and Paintshop Studio were praised for their work on our college. After being nominated in the ‘Graphics: Signage & Wayfinding’ category alongside the likes of the new Tottenham Hotspurs stadium (worth a whopping £1.2 billion) and the Mcdonald’s HQ, we came out on top!
