Our Homestay Promise

When you stay with one of our homestay families, you can expect:

  • A warm, friendly, and respectful welcome.

  • A clean, comfortable, and private room with storage and a study space.

  • Healthy meals (according to your booking).

  • Safe accommodation no more than 60 minutes from school.

  • Clear guidance on travelling to and from school, plus your host’s contact number.

  • A key if you are 16+.

  • English as the main language spoken at home.

  • A maximum of four students per household.

  • Clear information about household rules and facilities (kitchen, bathroom, laundry, Wi-Fi).

  • Equal treatment and respect for all students, with no discrimination.

  • Support from the host and school if any problems arise.

Our homestays are carefully chosen and regularly inspected by a member of the Bayswater Team.

Please note, the majority of our homestays are organised directly by us, but occasionally we also work with a trusted, British Council accredited accommodation agency to make sure we always have high-quality options available for our students.

Why Choose Homestay

Staying in a homestay is a great way to improve your English language as well as experiencing life in a home in the UK. There is no better way to find a home away from home, meet locals, and develop friendships you will hopefully keep forever!

Our dedicated accommodation team will always try and meet any specific requests you might have, typically related to dietary preferences, pets, allergies and smoking, to find you a suitable homestay. However, please remember this may limit availability in some cases. The more flexible you are, the easier it is for us to find you a place with one of our great homestays!

The Area

Most of our homestays are situated in the suburbs and are easily accessed by public transport. You will be given detailed instructions on how to get to the school and around the city from where you are staying. Your hosts will also make sure that you get to know your local area and how to find the places you want to go. Homestays are located in Brighton and Hove, travel times range from 30-60 minutes by bus.
